FAQs

1. What can I expect during a therapy session?

  • Therapy sessions typically involve open and confidential discussions about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Together, we'll explore challenges and work towards understanding and positive change.

2. How long is a therapy session, and how often should I attend?

  • Sessions are typically 60 minutes long. The frequency depends on your needs and goals, but weekly sessions are common initially. As progress is made, sessions may become less frequent.

  • The duration of therapy varies based on individual needs and goals. Some clients find short-term therapy beneficial, while others may choose longer-term support.

3. Is therapy confidential?

  • Yes, confidentiality is a fundamental aspect of therapy. Information shared during sessions is kept private, with some exceptions as required by law (e.g., harm to self or others).

4. How do I schedule an appointment?

  • You can schedule an appointment by contacting me via phone or email. I aim to respond promptly and find a time that works for you.

5. What therapeutic approaches do you use?

  • I utilize a person-centered and evidence-based approach tailored to your unique needs. Techniques may include cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness, among others.

6. Do you accept insurance?

  • Currently I do not accept insurance. Some insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits that may partially reimburse clients for therapy expenses. Clients can check with their insurance provider about these benefits. I do offer a sliding scale and can be discussed in initial consultation.

7. What ages do you work with?

  • I work with individuals 18 years old and above.

8. What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?

  • Life happens, and I understand. Please notify me at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule to avoid a cancellation fee.

9. How do I know if therapy is right for me?

  • If you're considering therapy, it's often a positive step towards personal growth and well-being. During our initial consultation, we can discuss your concerns and determine if therapy is a good fit for you.
